Newtown or Richboro.

Commuting from Abington to Trevose makes no sense. Council Rock SD is one of the best around.

Her husband has to make it down to South Philly each day.

And how is Abington a good choice for commuting to South Philly? Get on Turnpike and head to 476 to the expressway?? Terrible idea. Newtown/Richboro has easy access to I-95 and little to no traffic until you hit the dreaded Academy Rd/Cottman Construction area. Abington (with its high density) would be a nightmare just making it to the turnpike, then good luck from there. And don't tell he can head straight down Broad

I did just notice her budget. It will be tough to find a single, let alone a townhome in Newtown for $240K. If a 2 bedroom condo will work, you can find one of those.

Good luck

The bolded is key. I'm not suggesting either is ideal (or that one is necessarily all that much better than the other) but that's the way their commute is split. I actually think Cherry Hill might be best from a commute/Jewish community-balancing standpoint.

Also, take a deep breath.

Thanks all. Keep in mind that he's used to driving a great distance on 95 every day from Trevose to South Philly, he's fine with driving.

Why does Abington to Trevose make no sense?

There is virtually nothing in Newtown that is within our price range, unfortunately.

I do want to stay in PA for now, but I can see myself moving to Jersey when I actually have children who are ready for school.

Valley Rd through Abington to Philmont Rd to Street Rd puts you at the Turnpike and Rt 1 in about 15 minutes of easy driving. One good thing about Abington Township is that it is so diverse you can find houses in all price ranges from mansion to bungalow and all those people go to the same schools and shop in the same stores. Unlike Bensalem, Abington has no trashy side even if you buy the bungalow.
