Boroughs like Narberth, Jenkintown, Haddonfield; certain village centers within townships like Ardmore, Glenside, Westmont--predominantly pre-war and/or non-cookie cutter residential plus a central business district that isn't dominated by chain stores and big box retail. I didn't mean it as a knock--there are a number of places I like that aren't "real towns" (e.g., Penn Valley, which easily satisfies the first quality but falls quite short on the second).
