There is a legend - I do not know if it is true or not - that it was none other than author Charles Dickens himself who named it "Fishtown" during a visit to Philly.

Yes, Fishtown is popular with the "young and hip" but is there much by way of rental apartments there?

Default Where to live when moving to Philly

When you do move make sure to inquire about a renters policy HO-4 or if you are purchasing a home then preferably an HO-3 policy type. You want to make sure your interests are protected just in case you should ever sustain property damage. In addition make sure you are not in a flood zone where the city streets of Philadelphia sewer system backs up causing serious water damage issues. If you ever need to file a claim then look to hire a professional public adjuster. If you have questions on insurance coverage and policy types prior to your move then contact a public adjuster.

The "young and hip" that I know who live in Fishtown (including one of my sons) live in rented rowhouses. Not sure what's available regarding apartments.
