East Falls vs East Mt.airy.

I know it depends on what you're looking for? But which would you choose and why?
Safety?
School Districts?
Young professionals?
Close to Shopping?
Housing stock? which is more beautiful
Friendly neighbors?

Falls - closer to the river
East Mt. Airy - closer to the suburbs

Same school district

Housing stock - very close, edge to falls

Note: E.F. is long associated / identified with the old MCP ("Womens' Medical") and is still home to the medical school.

IMO East Falls has the better location (Closer to Center City, City Ave, Roosevelt Blvd) while EMA has a more established community feel. DT East Falls is coming along nicely but DT Mt. Airy is further. It also borders Chestnut Hill and is close to Montco, so pros for both locations.

EMA doesn't really have a young professional scene while East Falls does. Both can be wonderful for families. Schools are a crapshoot in both, except for the plentiful, excellent (and expensive) private schools available nearby.

EMA has a small area that would be considered rough by most while East Falls borders some rough parts of North Philly and contains a few housing projects.

Housing Stock might be a draw. Both range from rowhomes to historic mansions on multiple acres. Both neighborhoods are among the most beautiful in the city IMO.
