I've posted a thread in the south NJ boards about Burlington City and haven't gotten a clear insight on this city. I'm a Stamford Connecticut native and with costs sky rocking I gotten a job transfer in South/Central Philadelphia for work. I don't have a lot to spend on an apartment, but I found an incredible deal on east broad st in a historic home that I absolutely adore, what worries me is neighbors and coming home late at night. It seems I'll be living there by myself for a short time, but I've lived in low income areas of Orlando and nobody messed with me, even arriving late from work

What to do? I've tired looking for roomates, but all of them don't want guests over which did not appeal to me. I'm a young caucasian female in my mid 20s and the bus station is around the corner.

Any help would be great, many thanks!

Sounds like a long commute. Would you be driving?

Would be taking the njtransit bus, would be an hour and half commute. Don't feel safe with the RiverLine service.

RiverLine is safe , although Service doesn't start till 5am and ends at 11pm...buses go all night... You can also take the RiverLine to Pennsuaken and transfer to Atlantic City for 30th Street. A lot of people take transit down there , so its not like its not used....1.8 million... Security is posted on trains from time to time and at hub stations.

Does it take you to city hall?

Do you know about Burlington and how safe of a city it is?

Burlington the city is fine , some theft issues...but nothing to concerning....it has a nice downtown area that has come back since the RiverLine. For City Hall you take the RiverLine to Camden and then the PATCo to the last stop in Philadelphia and then walk 4 small blocks North to City Hall or the Core of Center City. It takes about 70mins...trains are frequent during rush hr.
