So I drove into town last weekend. I wanted to head for Center City for a bit so I decided to drop my car off at the parking lot in Frankford and just take the El down. Just a couple of things though: (1) does this lot ever fill up during peak time; (2) maybe it's me but it seems like the paint job for the lanes inside the lot wasn't all that good. It was the middle of the day and I couldn't really see them. Also, the lot could probably use some better lighting.

Other than that - I'd rather pay $3 in Frankford than $8 in Center City (with much more pedestrian traffic and much more narrow streets).

Anybody else familiar with this lot and/or use it often?

I know that the SEPTA parking garages get packed during the week during 7AM-5PM because everyone gets the same idea you did and drives to the station. It's kinda hard to find a good parking spot in the garage and you have to drive around a bit to find one (which will probably be somewhere really off).

The parking garage is a bit shady during the night, so I like to carry my mace for those dangerous potential run ins. Not to mention thugs blasting music, walking around the vicinity of the parking lot, etc. Just be smart and look over your shoulder every couple of seconds to see if anyone is following you and you should be fine. It's almost like a ghost town during the weekend so there is ample parking, especially at night.

Frankford's one of the most dangerous, crime-ridden neighborhoods
in the city. Pay the extra fin and park in Center City.
