Money talks. If all the profit comes from cable, you will inevitably get accountants looking at high cost operations in Manhattan that are full of history, but add little to the bottom line.

While I don't see that being very likely, I do think that it would be cool if that happened. Like, you would turn on the Today show during the summer to view performances and Philly was on the TV screen. But since this city is less iconic than NYC is I could imagine these shows actually losing viewers because people are like: "oh, isn't this the most muderous city in America?" or "isn't this the city where that woman had her boyfriend shoot in the bus?" instead of the thoughts they have for New York like: "Isn't this where the statue of liberty is located?" and "isn't this like the biggest city in America?".

The News/Entertainment networks will stay in Manhattan where they belong.

I was optimistic that the National NBC Sports Network would find its way to the Philadelphia region. Thats the one segment of NBC programming that should have been brought here.This is a die hard sports region and a much better home for sports programming than Connecticut. And it would have helped even out the heavy NYC-Bos influence that ESPN spouts.


Nothing else really makes sense for Philadelphia . Golf Channel belongs in a warm climate(Fla), the movie/tv Channel offices belong in LA.

Could you elaborate? I think you're excellent at making up scenarios and then guessing how imaginary people with learning disabilities would react to them. How would someone react to the Today show being filmed in Topeka for example?

although I think his examples are far too extreme, he still does have a point that NY generally has greater mass appeal for a national broadcast.

You are so cynical it's ridiculous. You call anyone that doesn't agree with you "stupid" or you tell them how "you seem to...". You do NOT know me on a personal level, therefore you have no right to tell me what my habits are and what I seem to do. Okay, my example was a bit extreme, maybe I could have thought it out more...still does not give you right to call out any of my character and tell me how I have a tendency to do anything when you don't know me.

I seriously hate when people on the internet think they can judge others and tell them about their character traits. I am a completely different person in formal writing and my day to day interactions with other people and I would appreciate it if you kept your "conclusions" to yourself.

You can go find some examples of me "making up scenarios and then guessing how imaginary people with disabilities would react to them" and bring them here, since I make soo many of them you had to tell me.
