I have a question about housing prices in the Philly metro area. Have selling prices of houses and condos bounced back to where they were before the 2007/2008 crash? I am not talking about any one specific area of the city or suburbs, but the metro area in general, and to make things simple, I am only talking about houses/condos built new and delivered to buyers immediately before the crash. So, taking into consideration all of the new housing developments in the Philly area with residences that were sold and delivered new to buyers in 2004, 2005, and 2006, are the resales of those residences today selling for more now, about the same as they sold for when they were new in 2004, 2005, and 2006, or are they reselling for lower prices today than when new? I ask because it seems that in other East Coast cities, such as the NY metro area and the Washington metro area, prices have bounced back, but not so in the Philly metro. Any comments from those in the real estate industry or others are welcomed.
