I just asked Cecily Tynan on facebook why is she constantly talking about such a minor storm? She is now saying that it won't be any snow on Monday

The Weather Channel said on Saturday that the storm would be south of PA.

It's not always the amount of accumulation that determines if it is a big deal or not. It is how it effects the roadways at rush hour that many have to worry about.

Well why start the news talking about it when they can wait until the weather segment since it's a minor storm?

Probably because they feel that's the part of the newscast that everyone would be interested in hearing about unlike sports and local news
