Hey there!

I'm from Venezuela and I was accepted in the MA in History of Villanova. Already got the ticket and I will be arriving on august there. I was looking for places to live and a friend recommended me to look for places in University City because that way I would be living close to Philly, but I understand that the travel to/from Villanova by train would take around 30-45 minutes, and I am not sure if there are another nearby choices that can better to live around campus, or closest cities that are full of students and things to do.

Can you recommend me other places to look for shared housing besides University City? and more important, places that can be accessible by public transportation? I won't have a car on my own. I don't have problems with public transportation, I only want a secure place to live, get by night, and that can be there any hour without problem from university.

Cheers!

A lot of Villanova grad students live in Wayne/Ardmore/Bryn Mawr. There's a decent student presence due to not just Villanova, but nearby Haverford/Bryn Mawr/Rosemont Colleges as well.

If you want a more bustling urban environment, try University City or Center City. You can take the train straight to campus from both locales--Suburban or Market East for traditional rail from CC, and either 30th Street Station for traditional rail in U City or the Market Frankford --> Norristown High Speed Els. Which one you'd take would depend on location.

Good luck!

Excellent advice.

Lots of apartment options along Lancaster Ave (Rt. 30) and along Montgomery Ave.

Wayne-Radnor-Rosemont-Haverford-Ardmore-Bryn Mawr.

Good luck.

If you choose to live in University City, taking a train to Villanova is easy and reliable. Trains leave from 30th Street Station, very close to Drexel University and Penn. For a week my car was being repaired and I commuted to Bryn Mawr (close to Villanova) every day. I was amazed how easy it was.
