As a non-Philadelphian and a midwester (Chicagoan), I must admit I never heard of the Provence until today, so forgive me if this is a rehash over other discussions.

this looks like a massive project, one that would be very hard to pull off in any city. I was just wondering if Phiadelphians consider this project for real, that it has a reasonable change of being built, or do you see it (given the evidence out there, which I am unfamiliar with) that it is merely speculation and will never rise from the ground.

This project, as well as several others, are vying for the last casino license not only in the city of Philadelphia, but in the state of Pennsylvania. The Provence will be built, only if it wins the last casino license, and yes, I think the developer would be able to pull it off if he receives the final casino license, but he has some fierce competition, ESPECIALLY Market8, which I think is an overall better project.
