I was wondering if non-students typically live in the UC area? I recently finished undergrad and got a job offer in the area. I looked at places in Center City but they were in the upper echelon of my price range and UC seems to be a lot cheaper. If this not the case, I would love to know where recent grads typically live. I'm pretty unfamiliar with the area so any information is helpful!

University City is beginning to transform from a college setting to a dynamic urban neighborhood. Grad students would certainly fit in University City.

I think recent grads can land in a few different places depending on what they like personally. If you like university city that is an excellent choice.

I'm not a student ( I graduated in 1977!
) and I live in University City.
It's a very diverse population: students and non-students; young families with children and older retirees; people of all races and religions; immigrants from Ethiopia, Eritrea, India, Pakistan, North Africa and the Middle East, and eastern Asia; upper-middle class professionals and blue collar workers; straight, gay, and transgender people. You name it. The more expensive neighborhoods are Garden Court and Spruce Hill, not so pricey is Powelton Village, Cedar Park, and Squirrel Hill.

I'd love to live there...everytime I drive down Spruce street from Upper Darby to get to my Job in the VA, I see girls walking that streets that look like models...LOL
