Hi all. I've started a non-profit focused on LGBTQ youth and am looking to have a fund raising auction (items include several works of art - paintings, photographs, jewelry, fiber art, etc - spa packages, gift baskets....).
Being that the non-profit is focused on LGBTQ, we are obviously looking to have the event in the Gayborhood/CC. I have contacted William Way, but would like to scout more options that may be more affordable. Ideally, it would be great to be able to rent a small-ish gallery for a single night for the event. Being that I've only lived here for six months and honestly haven't gotten out much, I'm pretty clueless and was wondering if y'all might be able to help me out with some recommendations or connections.
Thank you in advance for any help!

Default Check out The Plastic Club

A few years back I was at a poetry reading in the second floor exhibition space of The Plastic Club, Art Club & Gallery, at 247 S Camac Street. The space was charming. I'd say this area is probably gayborhood. The organization putting on the show had meager funds, so it couldn't have been TOO expensive. Give them a call.

I realize it is not in the gayborhood or CC but I would look at World Cafe Live. I have been to several charity events there with good results.

Thanks for the suggestions! I've emailed World Cafe Live. Having trouble finding anything about hosting on the Plastic Club's website, though I'm sad that I didn't know about them sooner. They're having a fiber art show I would've loved to be a part of!
