I have lived in Philly most of my life and I am trying to find a sports bar in Center City or Old City. I simply cannot think of any other than the typical Chickie's and McFadden's (which I am obviously trying to avoid).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.

You may be right. However, four of those were on the "Douchiest Bars in Philly" List.

I will give Public House a try. I have heard others suggest it.

I used to like the Dark Horse on Headhouse Square. They have a bunch of different rooms with different sports on - popular with the eurpean "football" crowd. Think it's now called Cavanaugh's - haven't been there since the name change.

The owners are from Ireland and they make an excellent shepherd's pie.

Good place to watch a game, we were just there Friday and had a good time. Seemed a little snotty when the after work crowd arrived ...
