Hello! My roommate and I have both accepted new jobs, mine in Conshy and the other in Chadds Ford. We're looking for a place somewhere between the two that meets some of what we're looking for! A perfect split isn't important, but we don't want one to be driving significantly more than the other. My job is more flexible (allows working from home, flexible hours), so we have been focusing towards Chadds Ford a little more. We've been looking at West Chester, but some of the complexes are at the top of our budget and availability seems pretty tight at most of them, and it's hard to tell which are solid places.

Any advice you guys can give is appreciated!

When are you moving? Starting work in June, but have a place to stay until we move in
Where are you coming from? Boston for me, State College for other
Why are you moving? New jobs
Where will you be working? My job is in Conshohocken, the other in Chadds Ford
Have you been here yet? Have visited a few times, have family in the area

Will you buy or rent? Rent
If renting, are you looking for an apartment, a townhouse or loft? How much can you spend?
Looking for a one-bedroom, but possibly with an extra space (den/loft, or even a 2nd br) if it's within our budget. With utilities, we're looking at a max of $1500, but are a little flexible with that
Do you prefer hi-rise or walk up? No preference.

Do you have a preference of living in a NJ or PA suburb? Likely PA, because of my job in Conshy.

Are you married or single? Do you have children? Coupled, no children.
Do you prefer public or private schools? N/A
Do you have pets? No
Do you want or need a yard? No
Are you keeping a car? Both of us will have cars.
Do you prefer bustling activity or calm and quiet? A mix of the two––quieter, but with activity nearby.

What do you want to be closest to? The work distance is likely the key factor here, but we would very much like a place with access to some nightlife (restaurants, bars, etc.).

Do you want to live with people of a similar age, race, religion or sexual preference or do you prefer a diverse neighborhood? Doesn't matter much.

Coke or Pepsi? Coke, for sure.

Maybe Media. Chadds Ford is further as the crow flies but the commute is quicker with a lot of back roads available.

The problem with Media is that there aren't many nice, newer apartments available. Its more of a single family home haven. I think they are on the right path in the West Chester area.

Id suggest trying Chesterbrook. You can probably rent a decent townhome there. Centrally located even though Chesterbrook itself is more insular and unexciting. Relatively Close to the Main Line,West Chester,King of Prussia,Media and the city is only 1/2hour away.
