My son's high school will be performing in the Philly Thanksgiving Day Parade this year. We have been toled the parade route is along Benjamin Franklin Parkway. We have no idea about the parade or the area it's along. I am able to get discounted rooms thru Hyatt. (Found Hyatt at the Bellevue on S. Broad Street).
Is that too far from the parade? Is is a safe area to walk to/from parade or is there parking available nearby??Any info will help!

It's about a 10-15 minute to the Parkway and it's a safe area. Don't hesitate to stay at the Park Hyatt. BTW - where are you coming from? If you are not driving, you won't need to rent a car.

Very safe and the Bellevue is walkable to everything in Center City - and walk from the hotel to the parade - really only a few blocks to where it starts - driving would be a hassle

Also second the no car unless needed aspect if you are flying in especially

You both have been very helpful! We are flying in from FL so most likely will rent a car to do some side trips over the weekend. But will definitely leave the car at the hotel Thanksgiving morning and just walk to the parade route. Thanks!

You may want to take a cab to and from the airport (flat rate of $28.50 plus tip) and renting a car on an as needed basis depending on what side trips you are planning. Anything you plan to do in center city is easily accessible without a car.
