I've been told that it's illegal to park in front of your own driveway in Center City, even if it's a single car driveway/garage and you are only blocking yourself in. However, I've also been told this is rarely enforced. Does anyone have any personal experience with this?

It's a $76 fine as I understand it. PPA define it as a violation to block any driveway, even if it's your own. Why? The PPA person who issue the ticket has no idea who the vehicle belongs to. They see a car blocking a driveway, good way to get $76 so I doubt it is rarely enforced (especially in CC)

It's so unusual that they have no idea who the vehicle belongs to -- you'd think they would just leave cars alone when they're parked in front of a driveway unless specifically called by the driveway's owner. But it seems like you're very much right, and I appreciate your reply!

Anyone else have other experiences with this?

Like I said.. it's an easy $76 for them and PPA is considered evil. They are always around in zoned parking area (such as CC and University City). I have a friend that lives in a non zone parking area in S. Philadelphia. I always park there when I visit. He said it's never really a problem as they don't have PPA walking around to issue tickets. They only do drive by and they don't stop to issue this type of ticket.
