Is Philly starting to feel crowded ? (Wall: bus, residential, car)

I was over @ Philly.com and they had a interview with the CEO of Comcast and ofcourse he was discussing Comcast's future and the city and he said its more fresh, energetic ,and it felt more crowded. Does anyone feel that the city has become more crowded or feel crowded ?

Center City Has been buzzing for a good 10-15 years. I personally dont see a dramatic OMG what has happened here, when the weather is nice its the same vibrant urban paradise that it was back in 2003. This past weekend(perfect weather) was a great example.

Now with all the new residential/office projects popping up I can see a crowding situation developing. The infrastructure,streets, sidewalks are so narrow that it wont take much more to create a very crowded environment.

10-15 years ago I used to run/bike on the Schuylkill Banks Trail, pretty much had the entire trail to myself. Today that trail is 8 people deep from Center City to East Falls.

Chestnut near 15th station can get formally crowded. However it's a major choke point since it's the only MFL stop that is in rittenhouse. For some reason people seem to prefer that rittenhouse only gets one MFL stop and the rest be passover country.

The city is growing but it still has a long way to go before it starts feeling as crowded as it did when Philly had a population of 2.1 million back in 1950.

Hah-I actually had this thought in my car on Sunday. I was stuck in constant and horrible traffic trying to get to South Philly for the Phillies game on side streets because I didn't even want to try 76 and Kelly Drive and MLK were both closed. I think it took me over an hour but there seemed to be an unusual amount of events/runs/crew stuff going on.

But otherwise, Philly doesn't feel significantly more crowded to me. Springtime is probably the busiest time of year as everyone emerges outdoors after the Winter and there aren't as many shore-goers freeing up space on the weekends like in the Summer.

It only feels crowded when I'm in a hurry to get somewhere.

Thats because there are two trolley stops on Market and one PATCO stop on 15th/16th. BTW the reason there are now other MFL stops on west market is because when the PTC built the dame thing the area was an industrial **** show, Chinese Wall included.

The trolley is only good for taking you to the next stop so you can get on the MFL.

I only feel that way when I wait for the bus on the corner of 15th and Walnut. Between 5pm and 6pm, it's just constant foot traffic coming from Broad street and 16th street. Just seeing so many people walk pass you from both directions is a bit much

Sometimes i feel like it even feels like this even when its non-peak hour. I just sit and wonder what the city would feel like with a population of 2 Million people.
