I used to like Wawa hoagies. I could accept that they now preslice everything, although I used to love it when you could go in there and get some sliced cheese to go. It's those rolls. They are horrible and they get soggy immediately. I've tried everything: rushing home as fast as possible to eat the hoagie immediately, asking the sandwich person to not put any oil or vinegar on the sandwich, getting the roll toasted, etc. It's always the same story. A soggy roll that I can hold up and all the liquid drains out of. Blech. I think even the lettuce is too moist for those awful rolls. I stopped buying Wawa hoagies when I actually gagged on one of those soggy messes.

Now, if you want to talk about stand-alone rolls, I'll take Liscio's any day.

The one Wawa hoagie I do like is a roast beef with creamy horseradish sauce on it. Try it!

I had an amazing Italian hoagie today from Campo's on Market Street in Old City. It was a tad overpriced, but still very, very tasty. I got it on the seeded roll, which was perfect.

I thought about going to Campo's this evening after work but did not feel like going that far down on the el. But yes Campo's is in the Top 5 category of hoagies in this city

How do you all think Wawa hoagies compare to Publix subs?

Good hoagies, heh? I would have never guessed being as their steaks are so awful.
