This is a long shot, but figured I'd post here as well. My car was severely damaged on Tuesday (while parked and unoccupied) thanks to a hit and run in Manayunk. Thankfully, my car was parked near the train station so I found it the next morning while walking to the train. While I was waiting for police, a guy came down to chat with me - he was working on his roof nearby and heard the collision happen around noon-ish on Tues 8/19. He said it was VERY loud and there was NO way whoever hit it didn't know it happened. It was a white box truck that hit my car and unfortunately the witness didn't get a tag number.

If anyone happens to have seen or heard anything, or sees a white box truck with significant front passenger side damage, please let me know. I filed a police report and a claim with my insurance. The police said there's not much they can do in regard to finding the person, so I'm not thinking this person will ever be found.

Of course, I just paid off my car 2 weeks ago. Thanks a-hole that did this to me, karma is a biotch.

So sorry Becca! I hope you have insurance! This is why I park my car in a nice secure garage and not on the street!

Hope you get everything figured out!

Thanks! Yep, insurance is covering it minus my deductible. I just got it towed this morning. Friends are taking bets on how much $$ worth of damage it is. I have parked on that street so many times, never had an issue... the problem was that the box truck shouldn't have been trying to go up that side street. It's a tiny little stub and very hard to maneuver with a car, let alone a box truck.

A shame no one got the tags. Hopefully someone rats him out!

Check with your agent and PA laws. I don't live in PA anymore but hit and run are usually covered under uninsured/under insured portion of your policy. You may not have a deductible (I could be wrong but check with your agent)
