Hey all,

I just sold my house and have been unable to find the "right" new home and time is running out until I'll be living in the streets! I think I'll have to rent and just keep searching for the right home for my family. My question is, is it common to find rentals with month to month terms? If so, any suggestions where to look for them? I've been looking on Zillow & CraigsList so far. I'm worried that 3 months into my rental lease I find the house I want to buy then I have to break my lease and lose money. Any suggestions would be super helpful!

Check out Kingswood Apartments in King Of Prussia. I remember when my parents sold their home and couldn't move into the next one for three months we moved in here. They have all different sizes, from small apartments to townhomes with basements. You can also get it fully furnished (which we did, so we didn't have to pack and unpack) and it included everything even a spaghetti cooking utensil lol.. They also allow pets and allow short term leases or longer ones. Plus it's minutes from all the highways. There is also a gym, pool, etc.

I just checked it out and some people have wrote bad things and others good, like all things I suppose. I didn't really see a downside. It was only temporary and we were allowed to bring our dog, the apartment was nice and clean, wasn't crazy expensive, and easy access to any area and highway where you need to get to. I had to drive to Upper Darby for school, my mom had to go to work in Wynnewood, my dad Ardmore, and I would go to work in Lansdowne. Plus we bought the house in West Chester so we'd stop there sometimes too. 25-45 mins to every where depending on traffic.

Default renting in Conshy

Hi!

We are in the same situation as you. We moved from Chicago and needed a short-term lease to give us time to find a house. We are currently renting at Sherry Lake Apts in Conshohocken. I'm not sure if you are looking to rent in a specific area, but i HIGHLY recommend these apts. We love the neighborhood and dt Conshy. The main reason why we chose this specific apt is b/c they do 2 month leases, most apartments rent for a minimum of 3 months. It is a very safe neighborhood/complex, pet friendly (which was a must for us bc we have 2 dogs), kid friendly, apartments are not too $$, they have a pool (but it is closed for season), and a small gym. The apartments themselves are very clean and updated. Laundry is in every building and some units, and parking is plentiful. We found our dream house and will be moving out in a month…I am sad to move from here. Hope this helps!

oh and 2 month seems to be the shortest lease out there. That gives you 1 month to find a new house and 30 days to close…that should be perfect timing, a least if was for us. Let me know if I can help further. Good Luck!
