Check out Levittown, PA. It's in lower Bucks County not too far from the turnpike. It's unglamorous but relatively reasonable. (I don't know the exact home prices). The "catch" for you might be that it's one of the original tract housing communities so there won't be acres between you and your neighbors. With all due respect to past and present residents, I would be hesitant to recommend nearby Bristol and Croydon, despite their affordability.

I'll reiterate, depending upon traffic on 611 towards Doylestown, a commute from Exit 4 of the NJTP of about 65-75min is feasible. I regularly commute from Exit 4 on the NJTP to the Route 1 exit on the PA Turnpike during rush hour. It usually takes me slightly over 30min.

I do tend to drive on the fast side, however, traffic is not bad on the above stretch of roads unless there is an accident
