It was a article in the daily news today saying what should be done before July of 2016 to get ready for the DNC. And one of the things on the list was reopening the Franklin Square station rather than having the Patco train ride past it. Tonight was my first time hearing that it was a Patco station called Franklin Square that closed in 1979 due to lower ridership. So my question is where exactly is it located on 6th and Race? I could not locate it on Google and was wondering was it in the Park?

Seems like I learn something new about this city every year.

The tourists are coming!

I'm pretty sure the station is in Franklin Square. Check wikipedia - there is an entry for the station.

You can clearly see the station when riding on PATCO through the area where the station is located.

A good article with interesting ideas but not a single word about where the money to do any of it will come from.

It is pre-Patco, part of the old High Speed line that ran from Camden to 16th and Locust.

They should certainly open it. It would be very convenient to have a PATCO station in that area.

I don't think so it stated that station was created in June of 1939.

They refurbished the station & opened it for the Bicentennial.

Maybe it would be different now but it got very little use when they opened it for the Bicentennial.

Not surprising look at where it's located
