Early retired, youngish 47 yr. old getting separated from husband. We currently live in a very large renovated farm house (with barn and pond) in Collegeville, Pa. this was our dream house, we have only been here for one year. I had a go around with breast cancer in 2005, and in 2011 dealt with a Stage IV diagnosis. I go to Penn every month for treatment, and to the city for other doctors appointments in between. I am now looking for something very special for myself and 3 small dogs.

I will be looking for a place that is of moderate/ on the larger size ( approx. 3,000 - 4,000 sq. ft.) with plenty of yard for my dogs, and extra living space for potentially a live in nurse in the near future.

I am familiar with the area in mount airy and chestnut hill because I rented there for one year. I have also lived in the art museum area in the city, Roxborough, Manayunk, and Wyndmoor. Most important to me is proximity to the city, feeling a community atmosphere, "healthy " stores, and interesting architecture. I may want to have a couple of chickens, and for sure s nice garden! If you feel like recommending any other areas I haven't mentioned, please feel free to enlighten me. Thank you!!

I ned recommendations for realtors who you think would be a fit, and go the extra mile with me. East or West Mt Airy will likely be a good fit for you (I encountered chickens on the street - near Germantown Ave., no less - and have the Instagram pictures to prove it).

Definitely chickens in NW Philly - I've seen them in a Roxborough front yard too.

To anyone ever in Germantown at sunrise - there's a rooster who lives in one of the yards adjacent to Vernon Park, and he loves announcing the sunrise.
