The 2014 Census Bureau estimate for Philadelphia is 1,560,297, which is an increase of 0.3% from 1,556,052 in 2013 -- which itself was revised upward from the initial 2013 estimate of 1,553,165.

The numbers are small but it's still so much better than so many years of negative numbers.

Concord Township,Bethel Township, Newtown Township still have room to grow and where most of the Delaware County growth is taking place

the nj portion of the metro shrunk as a whole. interesting, offset in the posted numbers by growth in delaware

Six million people. It should be a state. They could just combine the rest of Pennsylvania with West Virginia.

Neil Freeman took a stab at making 50 equal size states. He came up with some colorful names as each state would be just about 6.4 million in population.
