I would suggest Siam Cuisine in Chinatown, I believe it's in the 9th & Arch vicinity. Really fantastic Pad Thai, and other specialties. A word of advice: Don't request extra, extra spicy unless you enjoy tears running down your face as you eat. It happened to me .

I second Thai Singha House on Chesnut near 40th.

Also, I love My Thai which is at 22nd & South Streets.

The Chinatown area around 10th and arch should have plenty of options in addition to what has already been mentioned.

I definately recommend Penang on 10th street in the Chinatown section of Philadelphia. It's a combination of Thai, Indian and Chinese food. They have some traditional Thai dishes and also some very different things. There's also another Thai restaurant around the corner from that one,I think it's called Thai Garden? which is very good also. I believe it's on Arch. I also recommend a previous poster's Siam Cuisine, which is very good. If you don't want to go into the city, check out this place in Abington on Old York Rd by the Target, unfortunately I don't remember the name. I must admit, it wasn't my favorite That restaurant.

penang is awesome. i find the philly chinatown verson to be better than nyc (both spring st. & amsterdam). although they're all great. i believe they opened one in s; jersey (rt 38?). anyway, it doesn't get much better for malaysian food.
