The Manayunk bridge reopened as a pedestrian and bike trail on Friday! I haven't had the chance to check it out yet, but definitely will soon!

It looks great! All I ever knew of it when driving under it on Main Street was that it was a beautiful bridge. Didn't know if it was cars, trains, etc. Think I'll have to go check it out. Thanks for sharing.

Just saw a Facebook post from Visit Philly about it. A good excuse to visit Manayunk again

Used to be trains. Could have still been.

yes the Bala line could have run there easily, or even turned into LRT and linked with the Girard line

I am all for bike trails but I believe this was not the best use here

I'm eager to make a visit to Manayunk and check it out! I've only been there once to visit a furniture store and I'd like to visit the area once again. Becca.. what are some good restaurants/shops to keep on my radar? Thanks!

It depends on what you're in the mood for! No joke, it's a goal of mine to eat at every restaurant in Manayunk. I have a running list and I'm about 75% of the way through

- Lucky's Last Chance - my favorite place in Manayunk - awesome beer selection and amazing crazy burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese, tots, etc. I am here at least once a week.
- Taqueria Feliz - my favorite sit down restaurant - very fresh and unique Mexican, awesome margaritas (get the Three Chile one!)
- Yanako for sushi. They are also serving thai food (they own Chabaa) out of Yanako while Chabaa is relocating to a larger space.
- Rubb or Smokin John's for BBQ (I love both equally), there's also Deke's, but I haven't been there yet
- Winnie's Le Bus for some classic American dishes
- The Goat's Beard if you like whiskey and want some upscale ($$) pub food
- For more fancy, there's Derek's or Jake's and Cooper's
- If you just want some quick-ish so-so food, there's Manayunk Tavern, Bayou, and Cactus
- Anastasi Raw Bar just opened up last week, I'm dying to try that place
- Couch Tomato - the upstairs bistro or just pizza/sammiches from downstairs. Love these guys!

For stores, definitely stop in The Little Apple and also the science store. I loooooove The Little Apple, they have so many unique Philly/Manayunk inspired gifts plus lots of other quirky goodies. There's a bunch of consignment shops and boutique clothing stores that are always fun to check out too.

First the Riverwalk on the Schuykill ... and now this!

Great things happening in Philly.

I'm looking forward to the abandoned elevated railroad tracks being repurposed into Philly's own "High Line."
