The Los Angeles Lakers take on the 76ers tonight at the Wells Fargo Center. This will be Kobe Bryant's last appearance before his "hometown" fans. And I say "hometown" because a lot of Philadelphians don't think of him as one of their own since he spent much of his childhood in Europe and then in the Philadelphia suburbs when he returned to the States (compared to, say, Rasheed Wallace who battled it out at Gratz). Philly has never shown Kobe much love, even bringing him close to tears one time after booing him, but what do you think Philly's reaction will be tonight?

Hasn't he said he couldn't care less about Philly? So why show him any degree of love?

He disrespected his parents, publicly, when he graduated from high school & joined the Lakers. He also took shots at Philadelphia, the 6ers, etc. He never once acknowledged how his father took him to work & the 6ers players tutored him. You can feel sorry for him, if you want. I don't.

Couldn't agree with you more!

There's a reason Julius Erving has a giant wall mural in his honor in the city. Kobe Bryant will never get anything like that here.

I remember working on the pre-tape of the high school sports show the week that that went down. The sports guy did not report everything that Kobe felt a need to shoot his mouth off about out of respect for Joe Bryant & his wife.
