Yes, just take the train to terminal C. You stand in line to check in and check your bags. Then go up the escalators to the gates. Go through security. Wear socks because you have to take off your shoes and that floor is dirty and cold. Then go to your gate and off you go. I have done the direct flight from PHL to PDX many times.

The Philadelphia Greyhound Terminal, at 10th and Filbert Streets, is right across Filbert Street from Jefferson/Market East Station. It will be very hard to NOT find the train station from the bus terminal.

I don't know why, but the last times I've flown (including to Denver this past summer), I haven't had to remove my shoes. They told us to also leave laptops and phones in the bags!

As a first time flyer, this may also help: https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...necheckin.aspx

The blue line is more commonly known as the el. The other cheap way, and faster, is to take the 38 bus to the broad st subway at snyder. That would be 2.85 with transfer to cc. Train is 8 bucks

Don't take the bus to the airport. Also if you plan to fly back into Philly, buy another ticket ahead of time, you save like 2$ from having to buy the ticket on the train. Train tickets can't be bought at the airport, go figure. I think tickets from Jefferson station was 6.50 for one way, I think, at least it was in November, could be wrong.

Also, don't drink the water from the water fountains in the airport ... Blech ugh, the memory lives on.
