Being on a large college campus helps. I last had an Abner's in the 90's and they were pretty bad back then so it seems nothing has changed in 25 years.

You could always go to Jim's at 60th and Vine. Much closer.

Haven't tried that place, but Czerw's makes the best kielbasa and breakfast sausage I've yet had.
I AM a barbecue snob, and most of the places I've been in this town don't cut it, but next time I'm up that way, I'll check out the Rib Rack. But I must advise you that baby back ribs are nowhere to be found on the menus of the best KC Q joints. (Q39, Rosedale, LC's, Joe's KC, Jack Stack, Hayward's, and the Pat's and Geno's of KC Q, Bryant's and Gates'. There are others deserving of mention I've left off this list.) Ribs mean pork spareribs, period - short end, long end, or whole rack. Or "St. Louis-style," which is a method of trimming them for cooking, not a method of cooking them.
Deke's in Wissahickon, coming to Germantown soon, and Sweet Lucy's up by the prisons on State Road are the best places I've yet been to here. I hear great things about Fette Sau in Fishtown but wonder about a place that sells everything by the pound. Dwight's (there's one at Broad-Erie-Germantown, on the other end of the triangle from Max's) is an imposter.
