Hello - We're planning on moving to Philly in the fall, and are in the middle of changing wireless providers. Does anyone have any recommendations as far as signal strength within the city as well as the burbs? Ie, we don't want to go with Verizon if the service drops once you get out of the city.

Thanks!

Verizon dominates in our region and is a lot better in the suburbs than the rest in my opinion.

LTE everywhere.

Kind of a random story but related. In 1995, Bell Atlantic (turned into Verizon) signed an agreement with the state of Pennsylvania to provide fiber optic internet to every resident of PA by 2015. Long story short, they never did it, and got out of it somehow by stating that they do indeed provide all PA residents with high speed internet, just wireless. Pretty messed up considering the data caps they began imposing about 8 years ago.

My Verizon signal is great anywhere in this region.

I do home visits in Philly and the inner suburbs. T-mobile is unreliable in large parts of the city. I get good service with Verizon anywhere I have been in Philly and the suburbs.

Yep. I work in Philly and commute from the NJ 'burbs. It is extremely rare for me to have a problem with my wireless connection anywhere in the city.

I bought ATT because of the underground satellites that allow for connectivity while on the trains. Works very well.

The only other one I ever had was Sprint and it was horrible.

Verizon seems to work fine on the BSL, but has a few blind spots on the regional rail around Jefferson/Suburban/University City. They've bought out every piece of advertising space at Suburban so the weak signal to and from is notable. Otherwise, I haven't had any issues above ground.
