IMO A team's popularity has a direct correlation to it's net worth. (popular teams - whether good or bad - sell lots of tickets and merchandise - bad teams do the opposite) .
  1. Philadelphia Eagles $2.4 B
  2. Phillies $1.25 B
  3. Sixers $700 M
  4. Flyers $660 M
  5. Average US Soccer Team Value $156 M

Is this accurate?
Devoted Flyer's fans are 'Stepford,' no matter how bad, they'll never criticize their team and they always think they're thisclose to winning the Stanley Cup ... They also get envious and snippy towards the Phillies when they're doing well. They seem to ignore the fact that the Phillies have won two championships since the Flyers last won FORTY-ONE years ago. 'Bandwagon' fans especially drive them crazy ... it's comical.

Even though I am an Eagles fan, and they haven't got it done since 1960, I don't walk around with my chest all puffed out, like so many Eagles fans like to do. It's a loser franchise, I accept the truth. Wish others would.

To answer your question: The most passionate fans are for the team who's doing the best at any given time.

agree

the Eagles are without a doubt #1

Phillies have a larger following, when at least decent

The Flyers fan base is very strong and very passionate (equal to the Eagles among the core) but the core is significantly smaller That said Philly is a very good hockey town

The sixers, well the league had to intervene it got so bad...

After thinking about it, I agree with this completely. But since hockey arenas are much smaller than football/baseball fields, the fanbase doesn't have to be as big in order for the affect to feel the same.

By the way, congrats on making the playoffs and I will be cheering for y'all like a diehard against the Caps.

Simmonds. He's had the best season of his career. Anyone who can have the Gordie Howe hat trick is ok in my book.

It's been a fantastic year for him. I'm proud of him.
