I lived on-campus my first year, and now I want to rent my own place.
What are some good neighborhoods relatively close to Temple? I was really interested in Fairmount/Spring Garden/Museum Area, but the housing stock doesn't seem to be very... varied around there. Are there many apts there? Any building/area in particular you would recommend? What's it like living there? Are most people young professionals/students/etc? Or are they mostly families? Any Temple students living there?
What are the closest, nice areas near Temple?

Thank you.

Lots of Temple student reside in Spring Garden and have for years. It's traditionally been safer than Templetown and has close proximity to the Broad St Line. So commuting to Temple is easy.

Apartments in SG and Fairmount, that you might be interested in, are generally in town/row houses on these streets: Spring Garden, Brandywine, Green, Mt Vernon, Wallace , North, Fairmount, Brown, Poplar, from 15th to about 24th Sts. Since actual apt buildings are scarce you need to research availability through realtors.

Be aware that there are many more families in Fairmount. Less so in Spring Garden. I live in Spring Garden. I like it there but I'm not in your demographic.
