Agreed. And if OP is leery about Lincoln Drive (presumably the part paralleling the Wissahickon), then the alternate route could be Kelly, then right on Midvale and go through East Falls and Germantown. It'd take a bit longer, but just like G'town Ave, it presents a good cross-section of the area (if they're in that perky "gotta have a cross-section, slice-of-life" mood )

Ahhh but don't forget about driving on 76 at night time for a beautiful view of Boathouse Row! (the only good thing about taking 76 lol)

Yes that is true, I also wanted them to see the city down the 76, one of my personal favorite views. I think I will shoot for Lincoln/Kelly and the Germantown corridor. I personally have never driven south of Germantown Ave past Mt. Airy, it'd be a new experience for me as well.
