I used to live not far from there, though it was a few years back, and my perspective might be somewhat dated. If I remember correctly, closer to Chinatown is (generally) pretty safe, as you move north toward Noble St. it becomes a little sketchy. For a female alone, unfamiliar with the area, I'd prob recommend Uber or a cab, just to be on the safe side, at least til you get your bearings. Even then I'd say exercise caution, especially at night. Take care, and safe travels.

I have some experience with Chinatown. The place is alright to me, but you should use your personal experience as your best judgement

10th and Noble is the area I'd be most vigilant in. Hopefully in a few years the Viaduct park will open up and activate that area, but right now its a dead zone.

Exactly, if/when the Viaduct Park happens that should help the area enormously. As it is there is new housing, on Noble, closer to Broad St. so there is some change going on.

I have family in Chinatown, I'm there all the time. You'll be fine from 10th and Market to Vine, but (like LiveFrom215 posted) once you get north of Vine, be on guard. Lotta crazy homeless and drug addicts over there prowling around. It's creepy.

If you are asking your gut is telling you it isn't safe.

I don't like that area north of Race. I wouldn't do it.

It's certainly not dangerous but it can be dead at night. I'd feel comfortable walking there at night but as others have said, if you're asking it's probably best to uber/cab.
