Philadelphia and Boston are two of my favorite cities. I found Manayunk and Roxborough to be very analogous to Allston and Brighton in Boston, respectively. R&M and A&B are both in hilly areas far flung from the city center. (It can also be pointed out that they are each adjacent to more affluent communities, Chestnut Hill, PA and Brookline, MA).

Manayunk and Allston are both very young with a lot of students, many bars, also cafes and yoga studios. Roxborough and Manayunk are both a bit further beyond these neighborhoods, still urban but much more residential.

I am much more familiar with Boston so I'd love to hear about others' impressions! They are two great colonial cities, and I love exploring how they reflect each other and diverge.
