I like staying in Old City. One of my favorite parts of town. The Wyndham at 4th and Arch is nice. Has a nice bar and free garage parking.

It might be an issue. I was living in South Jersey when the Republicans came in 2000. It wasn't much of an issue ahead of the convention. By 2012 I was in NC, near Charlotte.

Security starts up well ahead of the actual convention now. Motels were booked for a month ahead, even 30 miles out.

CC hotels are already 80% booked. That was announced last week. And, as you say, advanced personnel will likely start arriving after July 4 if not before. And the DNC is larger than the RNC, I think.

I think you're right about the DNC being larger. Charlotte had the DNC last time. Everything was booked for a month prior, for 30 miles out. IIRC, High Point got some of the fallout with extra bookings during the convention. It's massive.

There's a bed & breakfast in Haddonfield within walking distance of the PATCO station. That might be an option for the OP.

Thx for the recommendations! finding a lot of options at upscale City Center hotels, so thanks for steering me into the best neighborhood for our needs.
