We are looking for opinions on the various high schools and communities around the Philadelphia, PA area. The commute would be to downtown Philadelphia. We have two children going into 8th grade and one that will be a sophomore.

Newtown might be also included to your list. Council Rock North is a good school district and the activities you mentioned can be found. My son, 9th grader in the coming fall enjoys the Band/Percussion and Choir at CRN and the Tae Kwon Do school he goes is a family based and warm school. Just my two cents.

Fyi, Harriton and Lower Merion/Ardmore are in the same school district: Lower Merion.

Marple NEWTOWN, and Strath Haven High School is in the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District which is excellent.
I don't know why you have Ridley in there? Its okay but not in the same high category as the others.
Also surprised you left out Rose-Tree Media School District, which I think would be one of the top options.
