Hello,

I am looking for a neighborhood in/around Philadelphia that has primarily bungalo-style homes. If anyone here is familiar with the Hamilton-Lauraville area of Baltimore, that is what I have in mind.

Thank you,
Beth

I don't know what you mean by a bungalow, do you have a pic? Philadelphia and suburbs have some areas of Cape Cod-style homes or ranchers.

Cape Cod homes lack porches; ranchers lack rooms built into their roofs with dormer windows.

Bungalows have both. Here's an example:

They're not that common in the Philadelphia region; they're pretty much nonexistent within the city itself, but I do think you can find some neighborhoods in the suburbs that have them.

Off the top of my head in my neck of the woods, Andorra, Conshohocken and East and West Norriton have a smattering of houses similar to what MarketStEl pictured -- if that's your definition of bungalow. The definition varies colloquially -- of both "bungalow" and "Cape Cod".

I do assume that my comment "Hollywood" was not taken as facetious. Hollywood,PA is a close in suburb of Philly and contains primarily bungalow style homes. Search for it with Google Earth, or ?

Would that be considered a bungalow? If so, there's a handful in Burholme, Lawndale, Fox Chase, Rhawnhurst, and maybe Castor Gardens.

Thank you for the information! I am looking for the style of home that MarketStEl pictured. I can start looking in those areas and match them up with crime data and commuting information.
