I haven't tried them all so I can't give you the absolute single best. That said, I can absolutely recommend whole-heartedly the salmon curry at the Thai place (there's always a huge line at lunchtime, and everyone gets the amazing salmon curry). Beiler's donuts also are amazing (also a huge line, also worth it).

There aren't any restaurants in the RTM, but there are a lot of counters.

Get a roast pork with broccoli rabe and extra sharp provolone from DiNic's and a Bassett's ice cream cone for dessert.

I am Thai and I just got the Salmon curry this past Saturday and it was really really good!

My personal favorites are the pastrami at Herschel's (for the the New Yawk in me) and the jambalaya at the cajun place. Of course, can't go wrong with DiNic's.

And for dessert, for SURE Beiler's apple fritter. it IS worth the wait. Plus, after 4PM, desserts at the counter across from Beiler's are $2.

And definitely Bassett's for ice cream. Milkshake or cone, can't go wrong.

Kinda off-topic, but fun fact since we mention Bassett's: We did NOT have a wedding cake for our wedding because once you've had one, you've had them all. Instead, we got a tower of Federal Donuts and Bassett's ice cream (pralines and creaman and cookies and cream). Best thing ever and MUCH superior to wedding cake.

I second the Roast Pork from DiNics.

If you are there for breakfast try one of the Amish stands.

HAHA! That's great! We had Beiler's doughnuts at our wedding reception. People liked those much better than wedding cake.

There is ONE restaurant: the Down Home Diner, on the Filbert Street side.

Molly Malloy's, just off the Center Court's east end, also has table seating and is the one place in the RTM where you can get liquor by the drink.

Second the endorsement of DiNic's. That is probably the single best food item you can order at the RTM.

But there are lots of runners-up. To those already mentioned, add the fried chicken at KeVen Parker's Soul Food Cafe and the rotisserie chicken at Diener's.

And the Train Wreck at Beck's Cajun Cafe gives DiNic's roast pork sandwich a run for its money.

I agree. There's been many days I've chosen the Train Wreck over DiNic's.
