Haven't bought any yet. But based on the prices for other dairy items, probably insanely reasonable, even for the organic kind.

The new Giant "Heirloom Market" in Grad. Hospital opens this Friday. Space looks fantastic, hopefully the prices aren't as "artisanal" as the local bread selection.

I asked because I live between 2 of the first round of Aldi/Lidl pairings. One has a Walmart between the Aldi and the Lidl. I usually go to the other pair. At that pair, eggs are usually 36 - 39 cents a dozen for large eggs. The pair in the other town, with the Walmart between them, has higher egg prices, but still very reasonable. They also do a price war thing with milk prices. That's why I asked about the eggs.

I was actually just over there. They have a bunch of different kinds, but $1.42 for a dozen large eggs was the cheapest I saw today. (Their organic ones are like $2.99, which is all kinds of absurd.)

Interesting. How close are Aldi and Walmart?

My son went to Aldi on Rt. 38 near Maple Shade last week and said that the place was a disgrace. There were empty spaces on shelves and in coolers. The gallons of milk were dented and had what looked like black grease smeared on them. When he looked for tea, he found a few boxes of one kind in the corner of the store. One? Are they serious?

I have been to about 4 different ALDI's, some in NJ some in Pa and while some were much nicer and recently renovated, I have never seen anything bad like that. Occasionally I see some baked goods (they have really good baguette) out of stock but I attribute that to the perishable nature and they get a certain amount and it sells out.
I really haven't seen one like what you are describing. I wonder what's up with that one?

He should find the Aldi near the Cherry Hill mall and lodge a complaint with them, in writing, about the Maple Shade store. The people at the Cherry Hill store will give his complaint to the district manager. They might give him a coupon.

I went to that store for years and the place was immaculate. I assumed that it was closed when Aldi moved into the former Bottom Dollar near the Cherry Hill mall.

So is there any chance Wegmans will prop up a store in city limits? I am the native Upstate New Yorker who drives to KoP for Wegmans about once every couple of months, but I'd love to make it my weekly store.
