Have they opened any of those in this region?

Walmart Neighborhood Market stores
I thought they decided a few years ago to close some of those....that the concept wasn't doing that well.

Of course, performance various depending on location, other competition in the area, etc....

Still waiting for a Lidl in the suburbs ... I am sure it's just a matter of time. (haven't been to one yet. very much appreciate Aldi's though I don't find it sufficient for all my shopping. I combine ShopRite/Wegman's/Aldi's/Costco and some Giant)

There was another smaller format Walmart division that was closed down about the same time that they decided to bring the Walmart Neighborhood Market division to the east coast in the Carolinas.

Have been to the Lidl on Aramingo. Similar to Aldi but bigger and more product. Another is set to open sometime this year in the NE on the Blvd between Welsh and Grant. Former Hooter site.

I googled Walmart Neighborhood Market Philadelphia and found one on Frankford. They're just supermarkets. Minimal nonfoods stock.

Trooper, Royersford, Lansdale, and Folsom in PA already have some. Some in NJ suburbs too.

I had told a friend in Michigan about Lidl and she didn't understand the similar but different from Aldi concept. She came to visit and I took her and then she finally got the concept. They are similar but they are different.

The bakery is a nice difference. They follow European recipes, and import some of the ingredients.

Between Aldi and Lidl I average about 3/4 of my shopping.
