BergdorfGoodman's is, imo, the best upscale department store in the country. Better than Saks, imo. It essentially takes many of the boutique items one can see now in the new fancy stores in KoP or on Walnut St and puts them under one roof. Admittedly only fashion nuts(me!) and a couple of other posters here would care a lot about it.

The flagship store is on Central Park South in NYC, on 5th Ave at 59th. It near the Plaza Hotel.

JC Penney has failed to keep up with the times. Just like Sears.

One notable mention at KOP is the Primark store. I remember way back when Primark used to be a dull retailer. May be it is still is because I don't recall seeing a more colorful Primark store in the UK like the KOP store.

Your first sentence is an understatement !

Pointedly, millenials just do not care about Penny's or Sears. Given that they are the largest single generation now it only makes sense to cater to them.

I did read something about Primark putting a store in Center City. Anyone know about that?

I understand that, but there should be some stores that also sell clothing to older generations. I've been to Primark and several other stores. There's nothing in there appealing to me. It's all for people in their 20's and 30's.

A lot of older people are probably going to be forced into online shopping for certain things if they haven't been already. Vermont Country Store, for instance, has a lot of what I call "nostalgia" items that will absolutely appeal to older people.

I'm an older Boomer, btw, so I do understand how frustrating this is for some people.

Primark is a glorified Kmart. I don't know how you can bring them in and keep Boscov's out in the name of upscale shopping.

You get "old" pretty quick. My sons are in their late 20s and Docker and Haggar pants suit them just fine.

1) Primark is not Kmart. It sells lots of cheap clothing (and it's obviously very questionable how they get made), but they sell things people want to wear.

2) It appeals to young people, which is pretty much the exact opposite of Boscov's
