We are moving to the King of Prussia/Upper Darby/Phoenixville area in the next few weeks. We are an interracial couple with a 7 month old daughter. We need help deciding where to live! We like areas with an artistic eclectic vibe, but also don't mind suburbia as long as there's shopping centers and things to do in the area. We won't be able to visit before renting a place. Our BIGGEST FEAR is that we'll wind up moving somewhere unsafe. These towns are not exclusive. We're open to any advice. Thanks!

I think you would like Phoenixville the best out of all of those options. Have you looked at Media as an option as well? King of Prussia is definitely cookie-cutter suburbia. Upper Darby is a little more working class/rough around the edges.

You may know this already. KoP has one of the largest/best shopping malls in the country. However I would not describe any of those places as " artistic eclectic ".

Maybe East Falls or Chestnut Hill. Look at the area in East Falls before you decide. It'd be better if you filled out that survey of questions.

This is my question too. You don't have to tell us the employer, just the town it is in so we know from a commuting perspective what advice to give you.

I'm not a fan of Upper Darby, or many of the suburbs adjacent to the city. As someone else said, it is a bit rough. However, Phoenixville has done a nice job of turning around their CBD, as has Media. KOP is a bit busy due to the mall, and commercial buildings.
