Philly Jesus is the greatest. He forgave all my sins the other day....

Which is nice.

This reminds me of the breakdance crews who work the Broad Street Line. (They can't work the Market-Frankford; the aisles are narrower, the cars smaller and the trains usually too crowded. Or maybe I just haven't been on the MFL at the right times.)

They were refreshing at first, including their shtick ("Your contributions keep us out of three places: 1. The jailhouse. 2. The poorhouse. 3. Your house!")

Now it's just gotten old - especially since the crews now consist usually of twentysomething guys and two small children. Seems to me like too naked an appeal for sympathy.

.
That line is used by every black male street performance crew in America. I've heard it in New York, Chicago, and Las Vegas.

Tiresome bunch of copy-cats and very few of them have any actual talent. Now the young musicians we should support are the ones that sometimes play in Suburban Station concourse. Those kids are great and they're all students at West
Chester U School of Music. Sometimes they play on Walnut St too.

Yes, love the violinists. There's a girl and a younger boy that play. They are both excellent!

There's also, occasionally, a guy who plays double bass.

I try to talk to them when I have time. I was like them 50 years ago. I was a student at WCU, Sch. of Music back then. Long story as to why I did not go on with a music career.

Me too-but I also play the violin/fiddle. I've often thought about playing in Suburban Station or Downtown.

I don't mind most streetperformers though-I just ignore the ones I don't think have any talent.
