I currently commute from Sewell to Voorhees for work, about 40 mins. I may land a job at U of P. What are my options for commuting from Sewell to U of P?

Thanks!

Driving: it's pretty straightforward, according to Google Maps. Unfortunately, Maps also says that if you're making the drive (Sewell -> Penn, no specific addresses) during the 7:30ish time frame, it'll take anywhere from 35-55 minutes using Walt Whitman and I76. Plus, the place the map marked as having chronic backups was on 76 just below the Penn campus. Maybe you'd figure a workaround for that and use local roads, but I'd figure an hour each way during normal commuting times.

Public transit? PATCO (from Lindenwold), then some local transit once in Center City? You'd spend 1/2 hr moving on PATCO, and would have to add in time to get to the station (not close!). I bet 1 hr 15 minutes would be a good day, timewise. The only advantage I see with public transit is that the door-to-door time would be more predictable than if you drove. It might be a tad cheaper (no bridge tolls, no fee to park @Penn).

Summary: it better be a damn good job offer

For PATCO, it's easy enough to take back roads to Haddonfield & go to the Westmont station (bigger parking lot). Transfer to the Market Frankford line at 8th & Market.

Ugh.. thanks guys. Sewell is a nice area, but most available jobs are a 50+ minute commute
