Outstanding letter. "...colonize Europe."

If you look at the actual tabulations, Philly is not 4th but tied for third with Boston and Chicago. Could anyone imagine that ranking as few as even 10 years ago.

That isn't something I even thought of, but that is a very good point. I have to deal with time zones all over the world, but especially with Europe, and even being on the east coast can get dicey. When I lived in Denver, and had calls with Europe it was much worse.

I know a lot of people are turned off by Amazon, one of the richest companies ever, making this a contest and that's totally fair. However, I think pretty much anything they want is totally worth it for most cities and especially Philly as it would be the injection it needs to jump up a tier.
Oddly lots of people are offended by success even when they know Amazon, or Starbucks for example, started very small, figured out how to snatch trends(coffee) or tech advances(Amazon).

It's a wonderful letter and she addresses, though briefly, what they have to factor into where they go: climate change.

Yeah, well, I brought that up wrt to the list I suggested for meetups. The only council person I had on that list was Allan Domb.

Ironically the gov of CO, former Denver mayor, grew up in Narberth.

Yep, Hickenlooper is a local native, graduate of the Haverford School, and was Mayor of Denver when I lived there. We are pretty much on opposite ends of the political spectrum.

My gut is telling me that they already know where HQ2 is going. So what's this about? Just to mindf*ck communities? Anybody else have thoughts?
