I know. It meets that portion of the wants. There's an Amazon thread on that board where people are discussing it. There are Amazon threads all over the boards. They're interesting. Some discuss the city's drawbacks, others can't see them.

Amazon already has two shipping facilities in the Charlotte metro, one in Charlotte. I think that it could come down to Charlotte & Philadelphia. Both have plusses & minuses. But I think that Philadelphia has more plusses.

More cities are expected to throw their hats in the ring this coming week. The deadline for bidding is October 19th.
Wow, Winnipeg. Winnipeg is the very definition of dull and over looked. Good for them.

Philadelphia would be perfect for Amazon. However, the politicians, and the politics of the City will screw it up, and they will go elsewhere.

I'd like to see Rendell & Nutter negotiating for the Amazon project.

Nutter is awol. Does anyone even know what he's doing?

The people needed to push this are Rendell(although I am personally sick of him), David Cohen, John Fry, Amy Gutmann, Judith Rodin, the Roberts( Brian and Ralph), Dick Haynes( Urban Outfitters),Brandywine Realty who are behind Schuykill Yards and the 30th Station Plan, PREIT, Liberty Prop Trust, UC Science Center and both of our US Senators.

Ban all city council people except Allan Domb.

Unfortunately our goof ball mayor can't be left off the list and neither can our blah governor.

Politics are a mess in St Louis and crime there is pretty bad; they've already put their bid in. We should too.
