Grilled and fresh are the preferences. To hell with that frozen crap! There's gotta be some great restaurants who serve shrimp. I don't personally know anybody who would possibly know, and now I find myself having to ask the CD community.

Hit me with your best recommendations! Price doesn't matter!

Edit: Just realized I failed at putting this topic in the proper subsection. The Philadelphia area is where this thread belongs.

You're looking for wild caught gulf shrimp and getting them fresh is going to be task.... I'll usually buy them at the store frozen, about $25/lb but they are huge.

If you're aching for grilled fresh shrimp off the boat, take a trip to New Orleans. Shrimp sold and served in PA is just about 100% frozen and then thawed. Most frozen shrimp is imported.

Everything is frozen on the boat. Yes, if you live near a port you can get fresh. It'll be cold, but that's good.

If you want fresh off the boat shrimp ask on the coastal board for NC. That's the closest that I'm aware of.

Ipolito's. You can find some excellent shrimp there, especially if you call ahead a couple days.
