With all the talent they have, I won't be happy unless they win at least fifty games this season.

I don't want to watch a team that purposely lost for four years. Plus the NBA sucks.

I guess the tanking for so long was worth it.

The Phillies may be the least popular local team at this point in terms of buzz and excitement, off season notwithstanding?
Yes Sixers are clear #2 right now.

The Phillies ownership is an absolute disgrace for what they have done to the Phillies. Phils should be neck and neck with eagles for #1 but for whatever reason Phillies ownership treats Philadlephia like a small market.

They have no problem going thru 10-15 year rebuilds and only spend money when they are forced to.

Phils owners made $80 M in operating income last year- tops in MLB- due in large part to a gargantuan TV contract and an anemic payroll filled with scrubs and prospects.

How can you purposely lose when you are paid to perform and have a family to take care of as long as you are in the league? The team was just bad and now they was able to get some good draft picks which will finally lead to winning. Also there is no way that coach should still be here next year if the sixers are not in the playoffs.

It is a well known fact the Sixers TANKED for four seasons in order to get high draft picks.

How can grown men in the front office along with the players who are paid to take care of their families go to work everyday and purposely do a crappy job? Most of those players from the 2013 and 2014 team are either out of the league or playing for another team. Those sixers teams from that time period was simply not good enough which is the reason for all the losses. It had nothing to do with tanking which is a word only used by fans.

NO!!! The Sixers organization Tanked 100%.

Sadly In the NBA thats the best road to take. 2 or 3 Elite Players can turn you from the worst franchise in the NBA to the best in a few years.

Well explain why Rod Thorn, Tony Dileo, and Sam Hinkie are no longer with the organization? Bryan Colangelo is the 3rd General Manager for this franchise in the last four years. All of those guys are no longer here because they did a awful job in drafting players. So do you really think grown men go to work to purposely do a crappy job when they have families to support?

These guys are multi millionaires with very lucrative job alternatives waiting in the wings at every turn. Their families have NOTHING to worry about. From a recent Yahoo article.

Quote:
After seven years working his way up to Daryl Morey’s right-hand man with the Houston Rockets, Hinkie took over a middling Philadelphia club in the spring of 2013 and set about answering a difficult question: how do we turn the 76ers into legitimate annual championship contenders?

The most direct route: securing bona fide superstar talent to fuel lead a rise up the standings. The highest-likelihood route of getting there: landing very high picks in the annual NBA draft. The best way of doing that, given the NBA’s system for determining draft order: lose as many games as possible to give yourself the largest amount of combinations of ping-pong balls possible to have your number come up first during the league’s draft lottery.
That rebuilding plan became known as “The Process,”
a phrase that came to define an overarching approach to roster-building aimed at soaring to the top of the league by first sinking to its dankest depths.

The approach produced a record of 47-195 during Hinkie’s tenure, including an NBA-record-tying 26 consecutive losses and an NBA-record-tying 18 consecutive losses to open a season, before Hinkie and the Sixers parted ways under a bit of a cloud in the spring of 2016.
